Cryotherapy

Whole Body

Whole body cryotherapy is a treatment in which the body is exposed to ultra-low temperatures, typically between -110o C and -130o C, for one to three minutes. This exposure starts a cascade of physiological events within the human body, starting with vasoconstriction.

Local

Localized cryotherapy is a targeted cooling treatment that rapidly reduces the temperature of specific body areas, triggering the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Similarly to the methodology behind whole body cryotherapy.

Light Therapy

Whole Body Light Therapy

Photodynamic Physiotherapy converts light energy into biological energy, effectively acting on the mitochondria. This produces a highly efficient photochemical, biological reaction: an enzymatic reaction. This enzymatic reaction activates cytochrome oxidase C in the mitochondria which generates more energy to accelerate the synthesis of DNA and RNA while concurrently promoting the formation of a large amount of collagen and fibrous tissue, thereby repairing damaged skin cells. It also strengthens the skin through a broadband spectrum as it promotes the formation of fibroblasts and phagocytizes (the pigment cells) to gradually whitening the complexion while making dull skin become transparent and radiant.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen at an increased level of pressure (hyper=increased; baric=pressure). HBOT is a treatment which enhances the body’s natural healing process by providing an environment which allows the body to absorb much higher amounts of oxygen that is possible at normal atmospheric pressure. It increases oxygen transport capacity in the blood. Oxygen transport can be classified into combined oxygen and dissolved oxygen. When entering the blood, the majority of oxygen will be combined with hemoglobin. Another part of oxygen will be dissolved in the plasma directly. At higher atmospheric pressure, more oxygen is dissolved in the blood allowing for increased delivery and utilization.

Infrared Sauna

“Hot air baths” and makeshift saunas have been used for centuries by cultures across the world, from the sweat lodge ceremonies of Native Americans to the Diocletian bath of Ancient Rome. While the practice of going to the sauna persists even today, modern technology has allowed for an option said to come with a practically endless list of benefits: infrared sauna therapy.
Infrared sauna therapy differs from the ancient practice of using fire beneath a makeshift lodge to generate heat, instead utilizing infrared light waves to generate heat in the body. These waves penetrate deeper into the tissues without excessively raising the temperature of the sauna room, making this therapy ideal for people who can’t tolerate the heat and humidity of traditional sauna rooms and so might miss out on the potential benefits. Temperatures in infrared saunas typically land between 110 degrees Fahrenheit and 135 F where a traditional sauna usually falls between 150 F and 195 F.

PRP Joint Injections

What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as a biological agent has gained popularity over the last decade or more in treating a wide variety of conditions in different fields of medicine. Basically, a patient’s blood is collected and centrifuged at varying speeds until it separates into 3 layers: platelet poor plasma (PPP), PRP, and red blood cells. Usually, 2 spins are used.
