Hair Restoration

Hair loss and hair thinning are common issues both men and women face. Luckily, there’s a solution that’s more effective than topical shampoos or medications–but far less invasive than a hair transplant.

Here at Recover Restore Revive we offer treatment for hair restoration either with PRP or Exosome application. We also provide a combined approach with medication supplementation and at home hair system following your procedure.

What Is PRP Hair Restoration?

PRP Microneedling - Doctor makes injections in the scalp to the patient

PRP hair restoration treatments are a new way to combat hair loss by using your own body’s regenerative properties. PRP hair restoration is a hair loss treatment that utilizes platelets, a major component of your blood, to stimulate hair growth. Platelets are blood cells that play a crucial role in the body’s natural healing process by releasing growth factors, stem cells and proteins that promote hair follicle health. Platelet-rich plasma injections can has been clinically proven to treat patterned hair loss, also known as androgenic alopecia, in men.

Benefits

  • Improved cell growth for healthier hair follicles
  • Increased number of active hair follicles
  • Improved hair follicle thickness

What is Exosome Hair Restoration?

Exosomes are tiny vesicles that contain growth factors, cytokines, and microRNAs. While they sound similar to PRP, they offer unique advantages:

  • Unlike PRP, exosomes do not require blood extraction. They are derived from mesenchymal stem cells cultured in a lab.
  • Exosomes are highly concentrated and loaded with growth factors and signaling molecules, making them incredibly effective in promoting hair growth.
  • Exosomes can be tailored to meet specific patient needs, ensuring a personalized treatment approach.

Exosomes work by providing essential signals to dormant hair follicles, awakening them and encouraging the growth of new, healthy hair.

Ideal Candidates for Hair Restoration

Good candidates for PRP or Exosome hair restoration therapy are healthy men and women experiencing:

  • A receding hairline
  • A widening part
  • Patterned hair loss (male pattern baldness)
  • Thinning hair

Although PRP is safe for most people, this treatment is not recommended for individuals who have blood cancer, Hepatitis C, HIV, or AIDS. Patients with these medical conditions are better candidates for Exosome treatments. Talk to your doctor if you are on a blood thinning medication before starting this treatment.

What to Expect from Your Hair Restoration Treatment

To prepare for your PRP or Exosome treatment, avoid using hair products such as gel or hairspray for 3 days prior to your appointment. Do not use tobacco, alcohol or caffeine at least two days before your procedure. These substances decrease your body’s ability to heal and may affect your results.

PRP therapy for hair loss is a three-step process. First, your medical provider will draw a vial of blood and place it in a centrifuge. The centrifuge separates the platelet-rich plasma from other components found in your blood.

While that’s happening, your provider may apply a local anesthetic to prevent any discomfort depending on the method of application. Microneedling will utilize this local anesthetic technique while direct injection via mesotherapy will not. Then, they’ll inject small amounts of the platelet-rich plasma in a pattern across the treatment area, evenly distributing the PRP.

If you choose to utilize Exosomes for your treatment, there will be no blood that is required to be drawn. We will utilize our medical grade exosomes for application after microneedling or through direct subcutaneous injection.

How Many Sessions Before Hair Regrows?

PRP or Exosome therapy is not a one time solution; most people require several sessions to achieve visible hair regrowth. The number of sessions can vary, but providers typically recommend three to four PRP or Exosome sessions spaced four to six weeks apart for optimal results. Maintenance treatments every six to 12 months are sometimes necessary for continued regrowth.

Results vary from person to person, but some may see results after as few as three sessions, while others may require more sessions before noticing results. Factors such as age, overall health, and the underlying cause of hair loss can influence the timeline for regrowth.

Patience and consistency with your sessions are crucial to seeing changes to your hair regrowth and achieving the desired results.

Your progress will be assessed after each session and tailor your hair restoration plan to your needs. Sometimes we will recommend combining hair restoration therapy with other hair loss treatments, such as Rogaine (minoxidil) or Propecia (finasteride), to improve the results of your hair restoration therapy and boost the hair growth cycle.
