Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen at an increased level of pressure (hyper=increased; baric=pressure). HBOT is a treatment which enhances the body’s natural healing process by providing an environment which allows the body to absorb much higher amounts of oxygen that is possible at normal atmospheric pressure. It increases oxygen transport capacity in the blood. Oxygen transport can be classified into combined oxygen and dissolved oxygen. When entering the blood, the majority of oxygen will be combined with hemoglobin. Another part of oxygen will be dissolved in the plasma directly. At higher atmospheric pressure, more oxygen is dissolved in the blood allowing for increased delivery and utilization.

Additional Benefits

  • Supports recovery from injuries and/or surgery
  • Aids in pain management
  • Supports circulation
  • Supports mental health and well being
  • Boosts mood and energy levels
  • Supports athletic performance
  • Aids with sleep quality
  • Aids with stress relief

This noninvasive therapy is the most trusted way to increase oxygen levels to all organs of the body. Because of the numerous benefits of HBOT, applications of this therapy are seen in multiple facets of care as follows:

Clinical Medicine

Helps reduce inflammation, improves wound healing, and improves the immune system. Treatment protocols exist for ALS, PTSD, diabetes, Autism, Epilepsy etc.

Diving Medicine

Used to decompress divers as well as used to treat or prevent decompression sickness.

Sports & Recovery

Eliminates fatigue, improves strength, reduces inflammation and muscle damage, removes lactic acid, and relieves damage caused by free radicals.

Beauty & Anti-aging

Stimulates natural recovery and immunity, boosts vitality, improves memory, improves cellular rejuvenation, aids in anti-aging therapies, improves jet lag, reduces brain fog, removes toxins and waste, reactivates skin cells and improves blood circulation.

What technology do we offer?

The Spectrum Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber

The Spectrum Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber is a hard shell, medical grade chamber made of thick 304-grade stainless steel designed to last the test of time along with all durable components. This monoplace chamber allows for the treatment of one patient at a time with a maximum atmospheric pressure of 2.0 ATA (atmospheres absolute). This 34-inch diameter hyperbaric hard chamber provides an extra wide sliding glass door and allows for ease of entry and exit. The control system combines an air compressor with dual air filters to help deliver 72 L/min flow of air via compressor and 5-10 L/min of oxygen through an oxygen concentrator.

Key Features

Medical Grade Atmospheric Pressure Chamber

While HBOT has many therapeutic benefits, the level of atmospheric pressure required to achieve these benefits varies from treatment to treatment.  The maximum pressure achieved is 1.3-1.5 ATA for non-medical grade chambers that are often soft shell exteriors. Our chamber is a medical grade chamber featuring a hard shell exterior and capabilities of racing 2.0 ATA. This medical grade chamber allows for both non-medical and medical treatments.

Extended Chamber Diameter

The extended 34 inch chamber diameter allows for optimal patient comfort during long treatment sessions. This larger size also helps alleviate concerns of claustrophobia during your treatment session.

Why did we choose this technology?

One of the unique design features of this Spectrum 2.0 medical grade chamber is that it does not require any special venting due to the fact that the net room oxygen does not change as the unit is operated.

Safety

The pneumatic control system features a unique sliding door secure locking mechanism for convenient door opening and closing. The chamber also features an interphone system for two-way communications.

Expansive Range of Treatment Modalities

While the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) currently recognizes medical grade HBOT for 14 conditions, many other treatment indications exist. Our goal is to support clients through both recovery and aesthetic based indications as well as medical.
